Alekka joined our Redhill Women’s Group in November 2020. The Women’s Groups is part of our Many Hands project which helps women to integrate by building stronger social bonds, gaining new skills for work through volunteering and improving their language and communication skills. 

Alekka was a busy wife and mum of two who wanted to gain new skills and find employment.

Thanks to support and advice Alekka received, she felt confident enough to apply for a job five months after joining the group. A month later, Alekka had found a job. She continued to work on her English language skills with her friends in the Redhill Women’s Group until she was offered more hours with her job.

Alekka is excited to see what the future now holds.
