Thomas Knyvett College Assault

Surrey Minority Ethnic Forum strongly condemns the serious racially aggravated assault which took place outside Thomas Knyvett College, Ashford on 6  February 2023. Our thoughts are with the students, and their families, and we hope that they recover from their injuries soon.

As a race equality charity, we know that this attack will be deeply disturbing to Black and ethnic minority communities in Surrey and we have reached out to our Black membership groups and offered them our support. We all have a right to feel safe.

We are confident that a full and thorough investigation will be conducted by Surrey Police. We will continue to work with the police and other organisations to raise awareness of hate crime and encourage actions which address racial prejudice, ignorance or violence.
