While the involvement of Commonwealth and ethnic minority forces was pivotal during World War II, their stories have often been overlooked in mainstream narratives. By celebrating Surrey Day through this lens, SMEF aims to:

 ·       Educate the local community about the rich multicultural military history tied to Britain’s past.
·       Recognise the bravery, sacrifice, and service of veterans from diverse backgrounds.
·       Promote inclusion by showcasing the shared history of all who fought for freedom.
